Connor's Baseball Games

Connor tried out baseball for the first time this summer. He was on a league for 4-6year olds, and since his 7th birthday fell one week past the cutoff, you could definitely tell he was the oldest of the bunch. He did a great job hitting the ball . . .fielding is another matter. We lovingly call him our "space cadet", and trying to pay attention while you wait for a little kid to hit the ball every 8 or so pitches would be difficult for anyone. Had he been in an older league, he may have had a little more fun. Anyway, it was fun to watch him hit the ball, make piles of rocks, and give the runner a high-five when he was fielding first base.

One Holiday Behind

Okay, it's Mother's Day, but I realized I haven't posted pictures of Easter yet. We left for Orlando the day after Easter, so many things were put on hold because of that vacation. We took over 500 pictures then, so there's still a lot I'm sorting through. Anyway, it seems that our kids are really growing up fast. Baylea just turned 10, Molly turned 9, Connor turned 7, and Cole will be 4 in July. Sometimes I wish there was a way to bring time to a screeching halt, but it plows on by.

There's always one in every picture that shows their true self, huh?

Wax Museum

Baylea's class had a wax museum today where they dressed up as historical figures. Last month , they wrote reports on their figures, then memorized sections of the report. Today, each student stood as a figure in a wax museum (talking and moving wax, apparently) and recited facts about themselves to every parent that pushed the button in front of them.

Here is Baylea, all decked out. She came up with the idea herself and did a great job with it.

She was so happy she got to wear my boots. (She and Molly have taken a sudden interest in wearing my clothes lately, yep, it's that time . . . .)

She spoke in a very quiet voice so everyone had to lean in to hear her. I went behind the group and cupped my hand up to my ear and made a funny face to get her attention, but she didn't notice.

Fireproof Movie Night

Last Sunday, our church held a Fireproof Movie Night. We showed the movie, Fireproof, that tells the story of a young couple going through marriage troubles that figure out how to weather the storms. TBT used this as an outreach to our community and offered a showing of the movie, along with free candy, popcorn, drinks, slushies, and cotton candy. The kids had organized activities and were treated with a visit by the local fire department and a fire truck. It was well attended and we all had a fun time!

It's been a long time. . . .

I've fallen off the blogwagon lately, but thought I'd post a few pics of everybody over the last month or two.

Molly's usually really smiley, but I happened to catch her in a thoughtful shot. She went to a baby shower with me, where she won the baby bottle drinking contest.

Here we are at Lacey's final basketball game. Part of the reason we've been so busy lately is we've added going to the gym 4-5 times a week. (This is a before shot, haha.) Brett and I are really building up our endurance, I tried spinning class for the first time, went 5 miles on the elliptical, and can run up to 3 miles on the treadmill, which I didn't think I could ever do. I was always the sprinter, not a runner, but hopefully we'll continue to get lean and mean. Insert your own joke here.

Mr. C - as you can tell, his front teeth are growing in, making him look older. If you ever want to know anything about the Legend of Zelda wii game, he'll let you know.

Little Coley - this kid does not like to wear clothes at home, so a lot of my pictures of him are similar to this. Here, he's showing off his prized possessions, his Cars. When he has a shirt on, he still likes carrying around his sword in the back of his shirt.
Miss Baylea -Today's her 10th birthday! She's so excited, is growing up very quickly, and is awesome to hang around. Tonight, we are taking her to Olive Garden, her favorite restaurant. She's also looking different because, last week, she started wearing contacts! She's done pretty well with them and she's thrilled to not be wearing her glasses anymore. I like being able to see her beautiful face . . happy birthday, Bayles!

I just got my camera lens back from Nikon yesterday . . .too late for any Christmas pictures of my own. Bummer. I pulled this pic off a friend's myspace album. . .the kids attended her son's birthday party last week.

I get to pick up the car rental today, been driving the church van for a week now since no rentals have been available. My own car won't be fixed until late next week, however. Been getting mail already from attorneys wanting to know if I want to sue the everloving pants off the beast who caused such pain and suffering by broadsiding me in the slick ice and snow. Sorry, I just don't think I'm entitled to big money and causing hardship on someone else because of an accident. If he'd been drinking or grossly negligent, maybe, but not because of a relatively minor accident caused by icy conditions. I wouldn't want someone else treating me that way. I am, however, going to go to a chiropractor for the first time ever. My neck and shoulder are definitely knotted up, we'll see what they can do.

Congrats to my brother and his wife on the birth of their son this morning, Jaxson Keith Holland. I'm awaiting pics . . .
